Our Aircraft
Our 2 rare Russian Yak 18 are the only ones flying in Europe.
We are awaiting a third and then a fourth Yak in a near future.The basic Yak 18 gave birth to many derivatives such as the Yak 18A, 18M, 18P, 18T.
To our knowledge, there is one Polish Yak 18 in flying condition in the Warsow Museum and one in the USA.
The Yak 18 was used for basic, formation and aerobatics training prior to qualify the pilots on fighters like the Yak 3.
It has a 5 cylinders radial Shvetsov M-11FR piston engine which makes the Yak 18 recognizable by its engine cowling. It was designed in 1923 and has a very typical sound that you will never forget! The M-11FR has only 400 hours potential making every minute precious.
Its normal Cruise speed is 200 Km/h.
What we offer
Air Display presentation in flying formation and tight combat manoeuvers.
Preferably, we request a notice period of 2 months to book a display.
We can attend air shows up to 5 hours trip time from Lille (LFQQ) France.
Countries already visited: France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, UK.
Our Team
Why Max Team? Because MAX was the NATO name given to the Yak 18 during the Korea war where it was used as a light night bomber aircraft for psychological warfare.
The Pilots are airline pilots based in Bruxelles, Geneva and Abu Dhabi and they are passionate about aviation history and always on scramble to get airborne!
